Blue-eyed soul singer Sam Smith has essentially cast himself as a heartbroken, handsome Michael Keaton in his new video for “One Last Song”. Directed by Joe Connor, the clip follows Smith in one continuous shot through London's Palladium as he belts out the sorrowful tack. The unbroken steadicam brings to mind the trick Alejandro González Iñárritu used to Oscar-winning perfection in Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), and it works just as well as Smith walks through every back hall and egress of the venue until he makes his way all the way to the rooftop. Check out the video above. “One Last Song” comes from Smiths' recently released The Thrill of It All. The British singer has mapped out a summer North American tour in support of the record, the dates of which you can find here.

To commemorate the event, the Icelandic trio has announced a handful of exclusive vinyl releases that will be available at the festival and later on the band's web store in 2018. Each limited edition will have their own 100-copy run with color-coded handmade sleeves. Most notably is Jónsi's Frakkur, 2000-2004, a compilation of unreleased solo electronic recordings taken from several albums' worth of unheard material. It will come in a handmade sleeve created on-site by Icelandic artist Sigga Björg Sigurðardóttir. Other releases include a brand new album of unreleased material from longtime Sigur Rós producer and collaborator Alex Somers, as well as Liminal Remixes, a collection of “extraordinary never-before-heard ambient versions of some Sigur Rós classics” put together by Somers, Jónsi, and composer Paul Corley. Additionally, Jónsi and Somers' All Animals EP is receiving its first vinyl run, while the band itself has put together Route One, an album featuring musical highlights from their 24-hour “Slow TV” event in 2016. As a preview of Frakkur 2000-2004, Jónsi has shared the opening track, which plays like a twisted lullaby. Hear it below. Alongside the announcement, Sigur Rós shared new additions to the festival lineup, including Tangerine Dream, GusGus, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, and Árni of the Vaccines. They join My Bloody Valentine frontman Kevin Shields, Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker, Mogwai, Hot Chip's Alexis Taylor, and more. Check out the full lineup here. Twenty years ago today, Death Cab for Cutie staged their first full-band performance, an acoustic house show in Bellingham, Washington reportedly attended by 25 people. To mark today's anniversary, the band has uploaded audio of that first show to Bandcamp.

Head of Pixar/Disney Animation John Lasseter steps down following allegations of sexual misconduct11/21/2017 John Lasseter, Head of Pixar and Walt Disney Animation, will be taking a six-month leave of absence from his post following countless allegations of sexual misconduct. According to The Hollywood Reporter, multiple Pixar insiders, as well as those from across the animation community, have come forward to document a pattern of troubling behavior, which includes “grabbing, kissing, making comments about physical attributes.” One such “unwanted advance” was made toward actress/writer Rashida Jones, a source told THR. As a result, Jones and her writing partner reportedly ceased all involvement with Pixar's Toy Story 4, which is scheduled to hit theaters in 2019. A separate studio source contends the split was over “creative differences.” Lasseter's inappropriate behavior was so well known, sources said, that some had developed a move they coined “the Lasseter” to keep him from touching them. One insider recounted to THR an instance in which he saw a woman appearing to use a form of “the Lasseter” to prevent unwelcome contact. “She was bent over and [had her arm] across her thigh,” he relays. “The best I can describe it is as a defensive posture … John had his hand on her knee, though, moving around.” When this insider asked the woman about the 2002 encounter, “She said it was unfortunate for her to wear a skirt that day and if she didn't have her hand on her own right leg, his hand would have travelled.” As THR notes, in a memo to his staff today, Lasseter acknowledged the “painful” rumors and “missteps” he's taken. “I have always wanted our animation studios to be places where creators can explore their vision with the support and collaboration of other gifted animators and storytellers,” he wrote. “This kind of creative culture takes constant vigilance to maintain. It's built on trust and respect, and it becomes fragile if any members of the team don't feel valued. As a leader, it's my responsibility to ensure that doesn't happen; and I now believe I have been falling short in this regard.” Lasseter, of course, is just one of over 60 men accused of sexual misconduct since Harvey Weinstein's bombshell report. Russell Simmons and Brett Ratner have been accused of teaming up to allegedly sexually harass and assault women, according to a new report in the Los Angeles Times.
The Times-which, on Nov. 1, first reported that six women, including Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge, claim that Ratner sexually harassed and assaulted them-reported on… Founder Kevin Lyman announced Wednesday that the Warped Tour will end after next summer. Taylor Swift's team have told streaming service executives that her new album Reputation won't be available on their services for at least its first week of sales, Billboard and Bloomberg separately report. Physical retailers were reportedly told the album will be off streaming for at least two weeks, but the precise length of time is apparently still under negotiation. The albumâ¦
Sufjan Stevens shares stirring score for coming-of-age drama Call Me By Your Name: Stream/download11/5/2017 We loved Luca Guadagnino's highly acclaimed film,Call Me By Your Name, when we caught it at Sundance this year, andour ownDominick Suzanne-Mayer made specific note of Sufjan Stevens' score, which he says demonstrates the musician's perfect ear for the film's tactile aspects of a summer getting shorter by the day. The full score is officially released today and subscribers of Apple Music can stream it below. Call Me By Your Name is Stevens' first foray into film scoring. A collaboration withJapanese composerRyuichi Sakamoto, the score is distinguished by lush orchestrations and staccato-heavy piano refrains, as well as Stevens' heavenly vocals. Of the three tracks contributed specifically by Stevens, Mystery of Love was featured in the film's trailer. The other new track is called Visions of Gideon and there's also a new piano arrangement of Age of Adz's Futile Devices. Understandably, Oscar buzz is already circling both the film and Stevens' work. In an interview with Lindsay,Guadagnino revealed that he invited Stevens onto the project. I wanted to have a narration that was not the banal usual literary narration, he said. I wanted it to be more about something that really came from the soul. I wanted his epiphany in the movie and I had the privilege that he said yes.Guadagnino says he asked Stevens for only one song, but that Stevens responded with two originals, along with the piano arrangement ofFutile Devices. Call Me By Your Name starsArmie Hammer,Timothe Chalamet,Amira Casar, andMichael Stuhlbarg. It opens on November 24th. Watch the film's trailer below. In November, Stevens will also be releasingThe Greatest Gift, a mixtape of unreleased songs, demos, and remixes from his studio sessions for 2015'sCarrie & Lowell. Listen to the album'sWallowa Lake Monster. Glass recently detailed years of alleged abuse and assault from Kath during her time in the band
